A raindrop falls
A haiku and a nine-second moment
Today has been one of those days when I’ve barely stepped outside.
The snow that fell so white and fine over the weekend has been visited by rain. The roads are wet and icy, the fields wet and slushy, and the only thing in bloom is my cold. Not exactly inviting.
Just before dinner, I finally crossed the long stretch to the doorstep. Ten short minutes — but still.
Perhaps the Japanese microseasons that have inspired me lately can also inspire micro-walks outdoors?
While I was out, I filmed a short clip. When I came back inside, a haiku arrived:
Ten minutes outside.
Nine seconds — weight, release, fall.
Sometimes that is enough.
